I'm not saying you're wrong about that. But IIRC the offense ran something like 6,000 plays in OTAs, preseason, training camp, and joint practices. How much more prepared would they have been if they had run a dozen vanilla plays in a couple preseason games?
IMO their struggles against the Raiders had more to do with the fact that no one had any idea what a Paul Guenther defense looked like (Or what a Greg Olsen/Jon Gruden offense looks like.) Raiders won the first half 13-10, but after making their half-time adjustments the Rams won the 2nd half 23-0.
