Agreed. On the replay the ball almost looked like it was traveling end over end. Didn't look like anyone hit him either.

Also, this may have been a product of the Rams' being on their third road game, or their confidence in being able to handle the 49ers, but the sideline reporter at the start of the third quarter said that McVay wanted to "shorten the game." This explains all the running and Malcolm Brown's runs and the preference to run the ball when the Rams easily could have torched the 49ers's depleted secondary. It also makes sense that McVay didn't want Goff to take any more hits if they could run the ball, keep the clock moving, and get out of SF with a workmanlike victory.
