Old School QBs from the 1960s. The beatings they took. Unitas. Starr. Jurgenson. Those old enough will remember the famous photo of Y A Tittle kneeling in his own end zone, bloodied and spent.
Man, the game has changed. Not complaining. But those guys used to KNOW they were gonna get beat up every game.
And if I recall, they changed the clock rules some years back. EVERY incomplete throw and OB play stopped the clock. There were more plays, more passes, and more exposures to beatings.
But, you know, I don't remember as many knee injuries back then. Those guys generally held up for the whole year.
