I noticed after one of the early series that he kind of had his head down when he came off the field. I don't remember if he got sacked or hit on 3rd down. I kind of thought he was a little miffed that the Rams didn't convert, but one of my colleagues at work told me that it was reported on the radio that the doctors had to took a look at him before the next offensive series.
Could the Rams even be competent on offense without JG?
I was at the game yesterday and our seats were behind the Rams bench. We had a really good view of what went on without knowing exactly what happen. He got hurt on the sack on the first series. He went straight to the Rams bench and did not lift his ahead for a good 4-5 minutes. Medical staff appeared to be working on his upper left area around his shoulder/neck. McVay came over and crouched in front of him for a minute or two and then told Mannion to get ready. Goff did not give a sense he was ok for at least a few more minutes. In fact I think Mannion would have gone in for a few plays in the next series if Brieda did not get hurt on the Niners first series. His time on the field being looked at bought the Rams medical staff time with Goff. Medical staff appeared to be under his pads doing something and next thing you saw was Goff popping up and grabbing his helmet. I watched the first half when I got home last night and was surprised they made no mention of it. Tasker it looked like at the time was on the Niners side.
The he was listing and not moving too well when coming off the field had me concerned that it was a collar bone. Was surprised that he came back in and played as well as he did.
I was thinking same thing from stands. Glad he is fine and really glad he didn't have to miss a play.
