Chargers will be sold...They will move back to San Diego.......NFL owners will "invest" in their product and build that new stadium near PetCo Park. Maybe even, use 2018 technology and "add land" to San Diego harbor and put the stadium there.
I would have sworn that SD agreed...if the price was right, to sell a big chunk of land downtown for a stadium. Old warehouses and such were deemed expendable. Was really surprised that Spanos didn't jump at it but I think that circles back around to him not actually having the money to do what Kroenke did.
The land and the opportunity was there if the Chargers wanted it but they couldn't pony up the dough. That's why I don't think the $700M in relocation costs are "real".
