When they took Barkley I figured they'd win about 8 games and be well out of the elite QB type range, but their roster is worse than I thought it was. So if they manage to end up picking very high and/or find a QB, they will indeed be sitting very nicely.
Anyway Barkley is an amazing talent and you'd have to be blind to not see that. But he's still a RB, a position where teams can find good ones well into the draft much more often than you can with QB. And while everyone is crowning the decision based on an impact first season, all I'm pointing out is time will tell. We'll see if that holds true down the road.
