those penalties are nearly like sacks in that they place a brutal down & distance on the offense.
AND, AD is held nearly every down if you watch replays...it's gonna be the holding penalties that will be pivotal for our defense this year...and put our DBs in position to INT. And, I think most agree that it was a rusty night for Goff & the defense...just think what'll look like when we start firing on all cylinders. Yikes!!

Goff was really off with his ball placement last night...and it was not from pressure...cuz our PA really kept the pass rush in check. Goff had plenty of time yet constantly threw ugly balls...CEPT those long overthrows..they were perfect..in that the WR or no one could make a play on it. Also, the number of PI that Cooks will get this year will be huge for us and move the ball down the field in chunks!! btw - On that last bomb to Woods...if that was Cooks..that woulda been a TD. Goff made sure to not underthrow the deep ones and was perfect at that!! imo
But Goff's ball placement needs to be MUCH better, especially with the time he had to throw. He will.
After all...this was their 3rd PS game and the rust was being shaken off!!
