He will be overpaid. He has not shown up for work for months. He has a contract and he's been breaking it. I can't see the sense in rewarding the player for his total disloyalty and disregard to his coaches, his team and his fans.
Sure we fans can say well it's not my money, but when a DT makes more than a million dollars a game what does that do to the ticket cost?
Teams will still want to make money so everything goes way up. So we do pay. And so he gets his 20+ million and he is the highest paid D player for a couple of minutes. What happens next year when Mack's contract is bigger? Maybe somebody else jumps up and passes him. Does he hold out again? Why not? He will get rewarded every time.
