Heck Faulk held out in 99. The complaints about that action and his character stopped when the 99 season got going. Heck I mention Harrah and Youngblood in part because many of my fellow old Rams fans don't even remember that happened.
A hold out is a protest of the contract situation. These guys aren't chattel. That kind of protest is old, it's a part of the system, and the Rams themselves respect this (which is why they won't fine him and don't trash him).
I heard the same kind of angry comments about about hold outs in 99 when Faulk held out. I didnt' buy it then and I dont now. Plus as I said the complaints stopped once the season got going.
