Need to clarify: I dont want premiums to go up every year like they do? That is not unreasonable. I have had to drop 2 tier levels for insurance due to outrageous costs in the last 5 years. I work in education and one of the benefits of education, historically, has been affordable insurance.
The district pays for part of our insurance and often passes the cost on to us. They made an outrageous demand and we kept status quo, so they wouldn't
have to address: 1.) other issues in contract negotiations (e.g., we kept your benefits for family members, so no pay raise 2.) did not address rising premiums annually where costs are now put back on employees (we kept premiums for family).
