I know what you are saying, which is why I said that players and clubs are free to negotiate guaranteed money right now. But I suspect that is not the same thing as the ubiquitous guaranteed contract as a CBA feature.
Nonetheless, a guaranteed contract would, for starters, include all contract money being guaranteed. The NFL will NEVER agree to that....mark my words. Players are too prone to injury, sudden declines, and there's 53 of them to deal with. A team with 53 guaranteed contracts has a nearly impossible task to redo the roster. And the NBA should never have agreed to it and has a great deal to do with the whacky way the NBA operates and how only a handful of teams will ever have a true shot at being good.

Btw, they do have guaranteed money in most of those contracts though.....so it's not like these guys ar totally screwed. That's why the G-money is so important to these guys in these contracts.
