Myself, I much prefer Cooks for this McVay O, and on multiple levels, at that.
I wish Watkins all the best, except when we play the Chiefs, but I like Cooks much better for us.
If we were only looking at Cooks v. Watkins, I would have preferred paying Watkins $16M than Cooks' $8M + the #23 draft pick.
However, for this year I like the way it turned out because we got Suh from the money we saved on not paying Watkins.
If we win the SB, Suh would likely be a big part of that and doing it the way we did would be worth it.
If Cooks doesn't sign an extension though, and he's lost to free agency, doing it this way was a disaster. A fireable disaster!
