i have been a vocal critic. He should have been canned along with Fisher. His hits are offset by his whiffs. Im not sure that another GM has missed on so many high picks (GRob & Tavon in top ten picks and Brian Quick and I Pead in 2nd rd), to name a few. He is aggressive, and I like that, but his misses are always glossed over. Also, he had more early picks than almost any GM in history from the RG3 windfall. He also gave up a 2nd rounder to move up to get Tavon Austin?? A GM should hit on 1st rd picks, so Donald and Gurley should be studs, and they are. Great. Im not going to go overboard on congratulating him on those picks. I would have taken them also...big deal.
Rams turnaround is all McVay, Snead again is just along for the ride. Guy is living a charmed life.
go rams.
As I just said, Snead's overall hit percentage is good. As good as any other good drafting team.
And to me the real miss, Robinson, doesn't offset anything.
Name another team that did this or its equivalent: within 3 consecutive years drafted a defensive rookie of the year who then became the defensive player of the year, an offensive rookie of the year who then became the offensive player of the year, and a pro bowl qb.
You have to go back to things like the Steelers in a 4 year period hitting on Greene, Bradshaw, and Harris. (Not that Goff is Bradshaw yet but then Terry developed into a good one, he didn't start that way.)
To me that just cannot be discounted. And when you combine it with the hit percentage, that puts the Rams right up there.
There's a reason they are uniformly seen as one of the most talented teams in the league, and that heavily includes guys drafted before 2017.
