So assuming Donald requires an exorbitant sum, to the degree that it's as zn says where one or two fewer "studs" will be kept in the core. Do you keep AD and let 2 "studs" walk or do you keep the 2 "studs" and let AD go?

Me...I keep the uber-stud.
Imagine adding Donald avec contract to the Steelers roster. (I go over the Steelers roster above.) But let's say they also have the Rams personnel people.
I let Gilbert, Truit, and Haden go for Donald. I figure this personnel group plus Wade can replace a right OT, a 3/4 DE, and a CB. The only real worry there is the CB and this personnel group is good at finding those...they have had a good secondary for a long time and have a great one now, without once having spent a first round pick on any of them.
I think that "swap" makes Pittsburgh a better team actually.
