Your reference to not being able to prove he didn't tape the walk through reminds me of the story where the prosecutor was forced to say at the conclusion of a trial "folks I have no evidence the accused killed the deceased-but you will note the defense attorney has no evidence he "didn't" kill the deceased". Well-thank goodness when you accuse someone of doing something wrong you have the burden of proving it-at least in the criminal justice system.
" I will take Warner's, Bruce's, Holt's and Faulk's opinions before I listen to any of Goddell's people."
You will note that none of these guys had anything but an "opinion" -And I have no problem with an opinion. What bugs me is when the opinion is stated as a fact. Because a player on my favorite team states an opinion I won't automatically adopt it but I will give it whatever credence it deserves. In this case those people above they lost a last second heartbreaking loss and that alone deserves some understanding. (i.e."we were the better team. How could they have beaten us. I know-they taped our walk through"
. As far as "Goddell"s (sp) people. You will also not that the Boston Herald-the paper that initially broke the "story" had to retract what they wrote-not out of anything from "Goodell's people" but out of responsibility of owning up to an accurate report on the "facts".
In any event I think people who put others down w/o knowing the person or "knowing" the facts do so more to feel better or superior to that person. We all do it occasionally. Sometimes we just go along with others because we're afraid to be different than them. It's called "group think".
