2012 - Jenkins was the best pick. Johnson would have been 3rd or 4th best behind JJ, Brockers and maybe even The Leg in the 6th round.
The worst was Quick - I was screaming for Jeffery that evening. Ugh
2013 - Ogletree was the best simply by default. It surely wasn't Bailey, Barrett Jones, McDonald or TJ McGee.
TA was the worst in a really poor draft for the Rams. The reporter says to cut Snead some slack because the 13 draft class was poor. Why would you trade up in a known poor draft? And with DeAndre Hopkins available later...
2014 - Donald the best, agreed
Robinson was the worst only because of where he was drafted. Tre Mason in the 3rd round was a massive whiff.
2015 - Gurley the best, Mannion the worst. agreed.
2016 - Goff the best, Higbee the worst by default, agreed.
2017 - Kupp the best in a really close race with JJ3.
The worst is Everett as of now followed by Sam Rogers. Now I will give Everett 2 more seasons to erase the worst pick status, but Rogers never made sense that is a spacing based offense with emphasis on big plays, Rogers made no sense and was quickly cut.
My own view -- and I may be alone on the entire board in this -- is that Quick was a solid pick, which could have turned out to be golden. Fisher failed him. The offensive coaches failed him. You just don't draft a raw kid from ASU and then NOT play him, if you want him to improve. And then when they played him, they didn't throw to him. No raw receiver learns that way, and kids with likely LD get worse, lose their confidence, tense up, etc. etc. If the 49ers had written a secret plan to make sure the Quick pick bombed, they couldn't have come up with a better one than Fisher's.
In short, from what I saw of him in college and in the NFL, he had all the makings of a future All-Pro, given the right situation. Just shy of 6'4", 225, cut, strong, very fast, able to run OVER people in the open field, he coulda been a CONTENDAH. But Fisher and company basically ruined him. And, IMO, they would have ruined Jeffery too.
Thanks again for your draft stuff, Deadpool.
