Gotta make the deal worth it for Cooks....and yeah,
17m for a deal before THIS season might be what it takes to make him sign on the dotted line.

Make perfect sense for Cooks to view it that way...and if the Rams want to KEEP HIM...
they need to view it that way too.

or...we just keep getting low 3rd comp picks...essentially trading down the draft for 1yr player rentals.
As zn and others have noted...the Rams have the money we to start seeing some long-term deals cuz the Rams HAVE to spend it

I'd rather spend the crazy/market rate for players that have shown their value...than sign guys just to spend the allotted CBA cap money the Rams are obligated to spend. There WILL be some very large contracts that might startle us,
but we must remember the economics of the NFL & CBA...
that this is the outcome for the next 3 seasons until the new CBA is negotiated.

I think we have really good team talent that IS worth the big money contracts that are, inevitably, gonna come.
