If he continues to have a top 5 offense, then his way is working. I don't think it's the most efficient use of talent but bottom line is results.
Yeah when you roll up 46 points on Indy 41 on the Whiners, and 51 against a hapless Gents team that can significantly tip the scale.
That means nothing to ME if you can only get 13 points in a playoff game.
Pfffft
I don't disagree with you.
If you've been paying attention to anything I've been posting, I've been pretty dismissive of the #1 offense thing.
I was saying during the season that the offense struggled against top defenses.
Goff improvement will be the biggest thing that changes that.
However, the offense was still very good. It was ranked 6th in DVOA by Football Outsiders. 6th sounded about right to me. I view last year's offense in that range.
But no one, NO ONE, expected the offense to go from dead last to top 5 range let alone score the most points.
McVay is doing something right!
I kinda resent that tone considering you quite often forget stuff I've told you in a previous post.
So forgive ME for not remembering everything you post. (insert eye roll here)
Anyway I saw a MARKED improvement coming, not to this level but marked improvement just the same.

That they CAN be weapons so it's not like they have never shown anything st this level.
Woody, Everette and Kupp will be weapons as well!
The cupboard is not bare it's just that people have been conditioned to not expect much from the Rams.
Goff is obviously the wild card.
Just decent play by Goff and the Rams will be much improved on offense!
One time! I forgot about something we had discussed recently one time. Geeeez! Forgive me!
Sorry if I was offensive with the tone. That wasn't my intent. I was mostly just trying to convey that we've been singing pretty much the same tune for a while now about the offense and Watkins.
However, your post was pretty prescient. Good call.
You didn't get specific and say close to top 5 but were right nonetheless.
Ultimately though, the offense success was still a surprise and the main point is that is a credit to McVay.
