Agreed. I think I would actually categorize the trade for Watkins as 'Plan B' rather than a desperation move. Maybe Cooks was 'Plan B' this year ... but they did try to get Cooks last year before getting Watkins. And they were talking to the Pats about Cooks a couple weeks before Watkins signed with KC. Maybe the Rams aren't all that disappointed with how this all worked out.
