I hear what you saying, and it is all too easy to think we have oodles of cap space but after some of these big contracts are finalised.... we won't.
I think Suh might have interest after this year but probably didn't want to commit to more than 1 year to see if it works out and he likes playing in Wades 3/4.
Also I wouldn't bank of cheap contracts for Hav or JB. OL seem to be able to get crazy money to now even G's. So if they have ok years going to get more than we think.
On Suh, maybe the two sides would have some interest in a longer committment but it would be expensive. Next year he will be a free agent at the beginning when all teams are flush in cash. IOW, Suh may want to say but struggling to see it working financially for the Rams. They will have some touch choices to make. I think the Rams took advantage of a unique opportunity this year and will be content to let him walk and recoup the 3rd round comp. pick like the Pats have done several times.
I'm not saying that Hav or JB will be super cheap but I don't think they will be $10M+ salaries on their next contract. Neither one has been any more than average. It's above average OL that are getting crazy money. Salaries for average RTs and OG's is in the $4M to $7M range. That cost also is why I don't envision both coming back.
