Goff made a huge jump in performance last year and the jump this year will be less. It almost has to be less.
I think there are some factors the much greater than many people expect and here is why
1. He is young and his body will develop more and he will be strong and faster
2. This will be his 2nd year in the system and he should be much more instinctive.
3. He still needs work on his mechanics and Tom House will help clean that up
4. He will find the open guy more often and quicker. This will be huge and an areas where experience and study will help tremendously
5. Offense has a year together. Last year we had a lot of new guys thrown into a new system. This year everyone should be better especially the rookies
There may be other factors but I expect we will be much stronger at TE and while we lost Watkins I don't think he ever got comfortable and will get similar to better production from either Reynolds, Thomas or Cooper who should all improve regardless of who is the starter.
