Respect is a main one. You can see he respects his coaching staff and his players.
Humility is another.
Listening to other people with an open mind no matter who they are. He's always looking to learn.
McVay has no problem delegating and doesn't appear to micromanage.
He is always looking for new ways to solve old problems.
He's not afraid to take other coaches ideas, if he thinks they will benefit the team.
Adaptability - There's no, 'well this is how we've always done it round here' -
There are always exceptions and people who succeed who don't adopt their own approach (maybe Belichick, I'm honestly not sure because he gives so little away) but the above pretty much run not just through sports, and business too.
He does the basic stuff well either by design, just his personality or more likely, a combination of both.
There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
