As for a rule the rule is clear on a fumble that goes out of bounds...it's clear...it goes back to the side that last had possession.
That makes sense.
UNLESS, you fumble into the EZ...then the other side gets it automatically -
without them even recovering it.The rule is one way..then another way on a different part of the field. I just don't understand the gameplay value of having the rules of fumbling out of bounds be different. What is the rule trying to do?? I'm unclear of THAT part of it. Perhaps I'd agree if the rule was clearer...but it's not even after reading it. imo
Holding in the EZ gives the defense 2pts and possession.....okay....but PI in the EZ
only gets the offense ball on the 1yd line/1st down.
The PI seems, to me, the more egregious crime as it takes away a
potential 6pts/TD but awards nothing to the offense...
while a Holding call in the EZ actually gives
2points and possession to the defense.
The rules just seem uneven and a tad arbitrary on those few situations. IMO
