I don't think the Rams do this trade without a contract for OBJ. Are we really going to give up a #1 plus for a guy who is going to be a contract issue?
Plus, you have a line of guys coming up for deals after this...like Gurley, Peters, Joyner (if he continues to produce), etc. Plus, Donald still isn't signed. And if he's not signed along with Beckham, something is going to give.
Beckham says he's not coming to camp without a deal. Let's say he only holds out during camp. Well, we just lost a WR in part because he wasn't at camp last year. Do we really want to go into another season with a WR #1 who doesn't know the offense? And what about Goff? We want him to develop big time. Do we throw a WR #1 at him with no reps in preseason to have the necessary familiarity when the season starts?
So...personally, without a signed deal, I don't see it happening. And frankly, if we give up a #1 pick plus more, and he comes with no contract, I think it's reckless. We don't need any more 1 year rentals like Watson (which is why the Suh contract is perplexing to me).
