Thank you! I do have an art background in that I have a BS in Applied Art & Design from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo although sculpture wasn't available in the program. I'm pretty much self taught.
The material is Roma Plastilina which is a clay flower, oil & wax based clay.
The face really catches Deak's expression, and the detail on the hands, the wrist pads, the lacing on the shoes and on the front of the pants: thank you for showing this; its rare to see objects that are made by hand these days.
