If Tavon is traded before March 16th then his new team has to pay a $5M roster bonus in addition to his $3M salary.
If Tavon is traded after March 16th then the Rams have to pay that $5M roster bonus and his new team only has to pay his $3M salary.
(That $5M roster bonus is guaranteed: the Rams have to pay it even if they cut him.)
