If you'll listen carefully, it is DA's side that has much to do with holding things up because he and Kalil Mack's contract are both up at the same time, and both want to become the highest paid defensive player. How do you do that?
So, Mack's agent and Donald's agents are slow rolling things to see who blinks first. Whoever gets the contract done first, will be the highest paid player for a few hours or days. Whoever gets their contract second will be the highest paid player for a much longer period of time.
Agents want to see what the market is. Teams aren't going to just give that away just yet.
Think Joyner doesn't want all he can get? Of course he does. But until FA opens, how does anyone know what max offer is?
While GMs might have some idea, they don't know for sure. Lots of liar's poker gets played.
And when a FS is at the top of the FA list, and a WR is at the top of the FA list, they're going to hope to strike it rich. Don't blame them.
But also don't blame the Rams because those guys want to test the market.
There's two sides to every deal.
