The hypothetical comp picks for Tru and Watkins wouldn’t occur until ‘19, Florida.
Just to make your math even more fuzzy. Lol.
Regardless of when they get a comp #3 the point was....... more of an arbitrary remark
Bottom line if the Rams lose Watkins they will have forfeit their original
2018 #55 and arguably their best WRI believe Watkins is worth more to the team than Joyner but that's just my opinion.
It all seems like fuzzy math when you try to offset the loss of Watkins & a #55 overall selection for comp 3rd rounder (any year) which is essentially a early 4th rounder.
As Snead said (though his mind and McVay's might have changed since then?)
Rams eye long-term deals for Watkins, DonaldSnead was unequivocal about the Rams' desire to secure Watkins' services beyond this season (he makes just $690,000 in base salary this season at the end of his rookie deal,
and is eligible for unrestricted free agency next season unless franchised). "Definitely -- he's 24, so you don't just do it for the now," Snead said.

Nothing I've seen warrants letting Watkins walk in 2018
