On the flipside....

February 05, 2018 04:17AM
I am probably missing the obvious point here but I will ask anyway. 2:03 left in the game, the Patriots call their last timeout to stop the clock preventing three seconds running off the clock before the 2:00 minute warning. Why call the timeout there? They prevented three seconds from running off the clock before it would have stopped anyway. If they had saved that timeout and called it after the two minute warning they save :45 seconds from running off the clock. I am pretty certain that the Patriots would have appreciated another 40-42 seconds of game time at the end. I see this happen all the time and I can't figure out what I am missing with this logic?

Thanks
