As of right now the feeling is Jeff Fisher was the problem and Fisher did have total autonomy on personnel and his coaching staff...IMO, they let Snead do his thing working in concert with McVay, providing McVay the type of athletes he needs to be successful. I think that you are correct in your Fisher total autonomy statement, den.
It was common knowledge that Fisher had final say on personnel matters via draft, FA, and trades, coaching hires, etc.
But let’s don’t overlook that McVay greatly contributed to the success of this offseason because of his staff’s ability to actually teach and develop the newcomers. A significant Fisher shortcoming.
It amazes me to see some posters continue to ignore that obvious factor.
