I think that "feeling" is yours. It's not what I get reading the front office statements. Demoff acknowledged that a lot went wrong that was not a matter of coaching. The upshot on personnel is that it was collaborative and no one acted with "total autonomy." And the judgment is that the personnel people did their job, which is why Demoff said before even interviewing McVay that it was not a rebuild. They would not have won in 2017 if they had not inherited a lot of very good players.
