Brady signed a 2 year, 41 M contract in 2016. His cap hit in 2017 was 22 M. That's low end for a starting qb but then high end is only 3 M more.
And sorting through every single contract in the NFL to find one guy who "sacrificed for the team" is just not enough to try and argue that Donald should be another one of those very rare (rare in the extreme) exceptions. It's just "blame the player" when the issue is the market, not the player.
None of us take less than we deserve where we work but when it comes to football players, we arbitrarily decide they should do what we would never do.
