Rams 81, most everyone understands your point, yet most disagree with you. Just the way it is.

Personally, I think it insults the players’ professionalism and intelligence to think they “can’t handle” a rest week.

On the one hand, there’s the risk of injury and the benefit of rest (after, what, 20 straight weeks of playing the most brutal sport there is?).

OTOH, the risk of “losing your edge.”

I dunno, I just think that a pro player in 2018 should be professional enough to understand the decision to rest and take advantage of the extra prep time without losing “focus.”

I think the Rams were flat because they weren’t ready for the playoff atmosphere, not because of the extra rest. Just my opinion in a not -provable debate.

Keep in mind— the vast majority of nfl coaches disagree with you too.
