Take a look at some actual exercise science; there are studies that support the idea of rest in sport. Also, if you really believe that rest is detrimental to athletic performance, you must think that the Patriots and Steelers are doomed because they rested this week (bye) while the Jags and Titans played, and some of the Steelers players will have rested for two weeks.
The fear of rest as it relates to athletic performance comes from the misconception that rest does not provide a physiological benefit to athletes. It actually does, and there is science that supports it. In the sport of marathoning, we have a concept called tapering where we take two weeks from competition before a peak event.
I don't need to reference any studies regarding rest and exercise science, I've been doing it for 40 years.
My issue is not and has never been resting players.
So unless you want to actually address my issue...we've got nothing to discuss.
