From a size and skillset perspective, I feel Watkins is the best WR weapon they have. Obviously, aside from TDs, his numbers were subpar here but a huge portion of that IMO is due to the deficiencies of Goff and McVay that have been discussed.
Given that I'm already nervous about the offenses ability to consistently perform against top defenses, I believe it's a very bad idea to let Watkins get away.
What I'm afraid of is Goff and McVay improving but the skilled weapons decreasing from Watkins walking, and the net effect being that the consistency and effectiveness of the offense overall doesn't move forward.

I think between McVay and Goff improvement the offense will become consistently good.
They both need seasoning.... it would be downright strange that Goff would not improve on the 28-7 3800 yard performance after he actually understands whats going on
There so much this kid doesn’t know yet
The bad part is we have to wait until next August to see him again
So do I understand that you want to keep Watkins?

To play like that ...not against Atlanta
I may have underestimated their defense... I thought the defense might struggle
I've had more confidence in the Rams D for most of the year - at least after they turned things around since the Dallas game.
The offense has made me nervous because I've noticed a pattern were it's struggled against strong defenses. Its weird to not be totally confident in a #1 offense but that's where I found myself.
