Not playing to win. Call it whatever you want, it's different than anything else they did all season. It's not a bye week, it's doing something completely differently for a game. It doesn't apply to teams that actually earned a bye week.
The Falcons were fresher, sharper, more physically dominant, tackled better, caught the ball better, etc., etc. than the Rams. All the things that completely disproved the theory in support of not preparing for or playing to win a game and in support of the theory you don't take your foot off the gas when something is working because you might not find it again when you need it.
McVay screwed up. He sacrificed a regular season win against an arch rival, a rushing title for his RB and potential MVP nod for his RB in order to avoid exactly what we saw happen last night. Hopefully he'll learn from it even if some "post game show" guys and fans didn't.
