The WR unit is seriously lacking in depth. Though he hasn't set the world on fire this year - think Reynolds or Thomas or Austin could every catch one of those 5 yard end zone slants in heavy traffic?
Tavon looked terrible as usual. Reynolds is a rookie so he gets a bit of a pass but he really hasn't shown much this year. His game on Sunday was up and down. Thomas shows a few flashes - but mostly as a competent back up. Don't think he's started material - and may never be.
We have 3 really good options in Watkins, Woods, and Kupp. It may take a couple of years to get the TE position to where McVay wants it so we'll need Watkins next year.
We can argue about how big a part SW played in the spectacular rebirth of the passing game, but is there any real argument that he played an "important" part?
No injury issues, so the Big Red Flag on that front at least is a fair bit smaller all these months later.
He *maybe* had a bit of an attitude flareup at one point, but that receded quickly.
Seems to me that the only real thing to discuss is: at what price would we keep him? Meaning both, 1) what's his value in this offense worth, in comparison to the player we think might replace him if he left and in comparison to what HE (and other teams) think he's worth? 2) How would resigning him affect our ability to sign others, including Donald?
