We need to remember that McVay loves to spread the ball around. It’s in his DNA.
Typically, at least 8 different players catch passes each game.
IOW, there is only one ball for 8 guys to share.
We need to do the math. Which players do you want to give fewer targets?
Woods?
Kupp?
Gurley?
Along with Watkins, it’s an embarrassment of riches.
And frankly, I see more targets for our TE’s next year.
Sooooo...
The question becomes, “How many more Watkins targets can there realistically be next year, and at what salary cost”?
Something for Snead and McVay to really think about.
