On offense with the skill position players and an offensive minded HC the stars are definitely aligned.
You are 100% correct in that the system is catered to Goff, actually a bit too much for my liking.
Its a copycat league and defenses will watch the Minny tape and try and mirror what they did.
Good defenses will start showing blitz early then backing off, showing 2 deep then walking a safety down right before the snap.
That forces Goff to go off script which he's had problems with.
Red zone issues McVay brought with him, but I've been critical of Goff missing guys down there as well.
In the playoffs points are precious and the margin of error decreases, so you gotta make the plays when they're there. SO that concerns ME.
On defense? I'm big time worried.
IF the front 4 doesn't get there you can have your way with this defense.
I'm gonna be watching to see how Wade disguises their shortcomings.
Dunno la? teams have had every chance to study the Vikings tape since week 11 and we're still averaging 30 points a game since.... Also, that fumble on the one yard line was a huge turning point in that game, especially in a loud dome like Minny
As far as the defense concerns, you can have your way with most defenses if the front four isn't getting there. But yes, they need to find a way to get pressure against the better o-lines.
I'm more worried about Kupp dropping a game changer or Ficken missing kicks then Goff or the defense at this point. Goff is the 6th rated passer by football outsiders and has clearly shown that he can make plays in and outside the pocket...I do wish they would go back to the uptempo offense though, he seemed to excel in that.
