The loss to the Seahawks at home where he dropped that last pass lost us the game. But the angle on the pass and the heat it had on it made it a tough catch to make. It was his fault though.
The other one was the fumble early on vs Minnesota, but I think fans forget that defensive players can make plays too. It was a great play by the DB.
Dude's a rookie. I think all those concerns on him missing some clutch gene are unnecessary right now.
They just weren't game-changing. Like the drop near the goal-line last game. It's near the goal-line, and he uncharacteristically lets it go right through his hands.
Being a rookie is not relevant. You are clutch or you're not.
It's legit to ask if Kupp comes through as much as he should in moments like that.
And actually it's a Rams question. You can point to the plays in their losses where someone doesn't make the play and instead makes a mistake. Veteran teams with killer instinct make plays when they have to. So far this year in their losses, you;'re more likely to see something like Gurley getting stripped at the goal line by Earl Thomas, than you are to see a Rams equivalent of Earl Thomas, on offense or defense, make the play. In other words, it's a 2017 Rams thing that they make mistakes like that, and it shows up pretty visibly in their losses. As often as not it's the close games where this happens.
If fact you can go through all 4 losses and name the mistake or 2 that cost them the game in the crunch.
When I am hoping is that this team, as it matures, develops that instinct and makes those kinds of plays.
