Ok, what have we learned about our Rams so far?
It's not an illusion, they are very good. In all three phases of the game..
McVay has been an inspired play caller for the most part, and unlike recent years, when the ball is snapped I don't think you really have any idea what he is planning to do.
One minor quibble on the playcalling is sometimes getting "cutesie" in certain situations, especially 3rd and short or 4th and short. Going to surprise the opponent with an unexpected play.
One thing I would like to see over the final 2 games, both against middle of the road teams, would be the Rams offense playing straight up a bit more often. I think our OL and Gurley (and Brown) are good enough to just line up, show a run, run the play and make the run just by being better than the guys in front of them. On 3rd and 1, run straight up the middle or off guard and just physically dominate.
We can always keep the trick plays in our back pocket, ready to pull out a moment's notice. I would like to see McVay call a game not so worried about outhinking the opponent but just letting the guys dominate.
