Fun stuff, here RF.
I love that our coach is thinking outside of the box. The naysayers are now in scramble mode trying to find reasons to explain how they could have been so wrong. Some of the members of ESPN LA radio came clean this afternoon.
On the Mason & Ireland show, there was a discussion about Lakers rookie point guard Alonzo Ball focusing on how poorly he is playing. Ireland is a Lakers guy and he was somewhat defending Ball. Other people were leaning towards calling him a bust when Steve Mason stopped the discussion and asked, "Are we REALLY going to do this all over again? Look at the position we are in now after what we and other people said and wrote about Jared Goff last year. Do we really want to go down that same road? What do we look like now with Goff playing well?" Then he actually named names. He said, "You were one of the main people calling Goff a bust, John! You and Keyshawn!" Then he admitted that he did it too and he cautioned everyone to give Ball more time before declaring him a failure.
I like philosophy, and deconstructing arguments, but I find it interesting when people are just passionately and flat out wrong. It shows just how tenuous opinions and beliefs can be. It's also facinating to me watching the emotional struggle that people go through when they are forced by evidence to confront and re examine the basis of their beliefs.
Sports radio in LA is such a blast these days!
