I have seen the Pats collapse in a trap game: the Super Bowl in their otherwise perfect year. That was the ultimate trap game.
All teams are vulnerable to trap games.
Some less than others, of course. It's a matter of degree. The more inconsistent your level of execution, the greater your vulnerability. But ALL teams face trap games.
Of course, you can WIN a trap game. That's a good thing. But it doesn't mean it wasn't a trap game. And it doesn't mean the stronger team didn't bow somewhat to trap pressure.
The Super Bowl a trap game I think not maybe the first 3 .None since as far as I can recall.
Your reference to the Pats being in a trap game against the Giants. The last game of the season
the Giants gave them every thing they could handle , and lost 38-31 I believe.
So they kind of knew what to expect. Any game can have a strange outcome , a penalty. a bounce
a ball caught off a helmet. All the Pats SB victories were tight games.
A trap game is another media invention that applies to average coached teams.
and Vetran teams that have never got there. Remember the key is inferior coached teams that's when a trap game applies.
