Although we share a common demeanor... investing, or that is non-investing, oneself in a losing season, that is.

For me it's my grandkids... all of whom play sports. That's priority #1 for me. To put it simply... I think less about the Rams because I'm thinking more about youth sports. And when the Ram's are losing, and losing badly, the ratio swings very far toward youth sports. However...

If I did not have youth sports... I seriously doubt I would share your ability to ration emotional investment. Is that a good or bad thing? Oddly, I suppose, I consider it 'good'. And also oddly, I suppose, while 'good' I don't consider it 'better'... i.e. your approach vs mine.

Could be starry-eyed childishness but during the 90's, then this recent drought, I never lost track, or stopped believing, in that light at the end of the tunnel. That statement makes me giggle at myself... because I am NOT a patient man. I will walk out of a McD's if there is a 4 person line. While trying to make a left onto a busy street I'll quickly say to hell with it and go right then flipping a U at the first opportunity - even though this strategy is usually more time consuming. And yet, with the Rams... I have patience that seems to have no source.

The Vikes win... well, sort of the same here. But for the same reasons? I don't know... that weekend one grandson was playing in an all-star game and another was playing in his team's first playoff game.... I don't think I can claim 'wisdom' - my attention to the Rams was simply diverted. - JamesJM
