I don't think I could have chosen better words than your to express my thoughts about the McVay/Goff Rams. They are just too solid in every unit to be considered a fluke. But that doesn't mean they're ready to take on the veteran elite teams of the league who've been to the great heights, just yet. Sometimes you have to hit that tree a couple of times before you learn how to avoid it.
For me, the Rams making the playoffs even as a Wild Card would exceed my expectations for them this year. But, I think they stand a good chance of doing just that.
2018 is a different matter. The seasoning. Playing in the same systems. Playing in big games that really count. Another off season to plug a couple of holes and to improve a couple of positions and add depth. A first time child prodigy having a full year of bumbles and stumbles under his belt. The natural development curve of the truly young skill players. If the Rams are real (and I think they are), 2018 is the year I think the word "Superbowl" could be a legitimate goal.
