There are ways of getting around that as well. Essentially the reason Bill Walsh went to the West Coast offense early in his 49ers stint was because he had no running game and the short passes became his running attack.

Gurley is a top running back but, Gurley is also a very good receiver as well and I haven't seen enough of that from McVay other then some screens.

I'd like to see some downfield passes to Gurley and some Wheel routes as well.
