I'm not saying it can't be done. It's just a matter or priority.
At this point we don't know what that will be but there is lots to consider.
If you're extending TruJ does that mean Watkins is walking? I suspect it's one or the other there.
If you find a big upgrade in FA - which is probably doable - he'll probably be expensive. Great players don't come cheap. So are you signing that player in place of TruJ and Watkins?
A trade may be a good idea. I think they should go that route more often...
Other considerations. I think they may end up needing pass rushers (plural) just as much, if not more, than CBs.
So when I say that it will be tough to replace both starting CBs it's not because they can't, it's because I don't think doing so will be the priority over other things. Webster was signed for two years and my bet is that they intend to get both years out of him.
In your original post you identified 6 current starters or near starters on the D who need to be upgraded. My point was, I don't think they'll be able to prioritize upgrading over half of the D starters. Webster is one who is probably not gonna be first in line to replace.
My list for upgrades and/or players I think will be gone: Quinn, Barwin, TruJ, NT.
That's plenty for the D. Having resources beyond that is a tough ask.
