Young teams, with new HCs', rookie or very young QBs, and new systems are going to have their ups and downs. Heck, even established teams have them (Pats, Steelers to name a couple).

McVay was never the football god that some held him up as; nor is he in over his head. The media (and unfortunately some fans) tend to put their favorite players and coaches on pedestals and when they fail to live up to the fans' or media expectations, suddenly that player or coach isn't so hot after all......nobody likes being disappointed.

To me what is happening with the Rams is development. The Rams are finally in a position to act like the stock market; over time it goes up and it goes down, but the trend is always up. We've seen the O perform really well; we've the seen the D perform really well; and we've seen our STs perform really well.....just not all in the same game. That's the trick. And when that starts happening then it needs to transform into consistency.

Will it happen? Hard to know. But I think the Rams have the HC and staff, and they have the QB and many good pieces.
I don't think McVay is screwing up at all. This is just a young team growing and the typical uneven rate that they do.
