L.A.Rams
They did indeed get some good players, but there were numerous catastrophic selections with high picks.
To me it's not really engaging in debate to say that they had numerous misses with high picks. Of course they have. And so does every team.
In fact, the league average is that at least 50% of 2nd round picks are misses. So Pead's, Quicks and Mason's are not surprises at all.
That's normal.
When fans emphasize the "catastrophic selections" without looking at the entire context of percentage of successful picks, it's not real analysis IMO and doesn't give us a real picture of how the team has been at drafting in the past.
It's possible, and a bit tricky, to analyze the 2012-16 drafts. It's tricky because, among other things, with regime change teams move on from certain players who are not system fits (eg. Alexander worked for GW last year, but they clearly prefer Johnson this year). It's also tricky because some Rams suffered strange career ending calamities (Bailey, Mason). So do they even count against the total?
BUT with all that, I still say they had a good percentage of hits.
THIS draft however, 2017, is shaping up to be spectacular.
