L.A.Rams
...it is nice to have a "pinch me" draft! I agree with your assessment. It is nice to see Higbee playing well, but I would like to see Everett get more opportunities. He looked great before getting banged up. I would also like to see Reynolds get more opportunities. I am leaving for a sea trip to the Arctic tomorrow. It will be my third trip to that amazing part of the world, but it will be a bummer to miss the next four games.
If they had not had overall good drafts before 2017, then, there would be no team.
So current starters the 2012-2015 Rams drafted include Tru, Joyner, Quinn, Tree, Brockers, Donald, Hav, Brown, Higbee, Austin, Goff, Gurley, Hekker, and Zuerlein. Cooper is the league leading KR. Longacre gets a lot of snaps though he was a UDFA.
They could actually afford to trade away Gaines. They let Jenkins walk.
Imagine if they had to replace those players now. I know a couple of them they will replace soon. But I mean what about having to find guys for ALL those spots...NOW. That's much more what it was like in 2009 and 2012.
As a contrast, in his third year in Seattle, Carroll finally started winning, and his starters included only 3 guys who had been there before he arrived in 2010...and one of those was the punter. In 99, Vermeil had 6 guys left on the entire roster who were there before 97.
The Rams will be in nothing like that type of situation in 2019.
By any objective measure the Rams drafted pretty well from 2012-2016.
